The village was born on the foundations of an ancient church in suburban area there have been some findings of the Etruscan civilization. It was during the Middle Ages that arose first points of observation and lookouts. In early 1200 Florence built the fortress of Incisa, what today is called "castle", whose foot stands the village. At the end of that century Incisa will have a mayor. Subsequently, the village was involved in famous struggles between the Guelphs and Ghibellines.
